Marg Watson is an ARA Member and former post-adoption support counsellor with PARC. In 2019, Marg created and then presented this poster at the National Suicide Prevention Conference in Melbourne.
Marg found out that she was adopted when she was 40 years old, what is known as being a “late discovery adoptee“. She tells teh story of her experiences of integrating adoption, abandonment, separation and trauma in her book Surviving Secrets.
This poster is a great resource to assist in explaining the complex, lifelong impacts of adoption – whether an adoptee has known they were adopted their whole life or found out later in life.
